Francesco P. Gallaro

MSPT, CSCS, cert. SFMA, cert. FRCms

Being born in New York City from childhood Francesco has had the peculiar circumstance of being both jock and engineering nerd. A traumatic incident on the soccer field changed his direction in life from architecture and engineering to orthopedic physical therapy and sports performance. This field in which he dedicates himself to brings together his passion and love for people, the miracle of the human body, mechanics, critical and algorythmic thinking and physical fitness. Everday experiences with new clients allows his mind to evolve in the understanding of how movement affects the human body.

Francesco graduated from a joint Master's program from Villanova University and Thomas Jefferson University in 2004. While at TJU, Francesco served as a graduate research assistant to his orthopedics and biomechanics instructors.  Since graduation, Francesco has worked strictly as an orthopedic manual physical therapist with a heavy influence in neuro-muscular control, joint mobilization and manipulation. He treats all facets of orthopedics, sports performance, and post-surgical rehabilitation.

With various certifications ranging from Strength and Conditioning Coach (CSCS),  Functional Range Conditioning (FRCms), Functional Range Release (FRR), Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), he continues to broaden his range of specialties.  He became a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association and continues to hold memberships in the American Physical Therapy Association and the Kinesio Taping Association International. He has had specialty training in manual therapy for peripheral joint and spinal mobilization and manipulation through Maitland Australian Physiotherapy and the Mulligan Concept. Francesco has an extensive list of continued education which has been focused on other various manual therapies, Active Release Technique, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization to pilates based rehab and other functional training and sports performance ideology.

This combined knowledge and expertise of rehabilitation training, manual therapies, and performance training offers a well-balanced formula for maximal recovery and patient care. Francesco’s uncompromised belief of patients deserving highly individualized and specialized care has led him to leave the world of commercialized physical therapy and go on his own.
